Girl's Camp

I just got back from girls camp. I had so much fun. I don't know who had more fun the girl's or me???? It brought back so many memories. We went down to a place called Kerrville, it's right outside San Antonio. We stayed in some sweet cabins, with A/C and showers, much better than Trek. The first day we went to a water park, I know girls camp at the water park?? One of our leaders got free tickets, so why not. We had a blast!!!!! Then the next morning we did our skits, "hike" if you want to call it that, and then we played on the river. I don't have any pictures, but I will post some good ones when I get them. On the river the girls were out there playing for a while and all the sudden a snake came swimming across the way. I have never seen the girls move so fast. If any of you know me very well, snakes freak me out. I don't do snakes!!!! I can't look at them, watch them on TV, let alone see them swimming in the river that we were playing in. It took a long while, but we got some floats and got the girls back in the water and they ended up having a great time. One of the funniest things that happened at camp was a conversation that happened in the car and retold to us:

Victoria: " Hey does anyone want some Pirate's Booty?"
Meggie: " Uh, I already had some, but thanks"
Ashley: " I don't do Pirate's"
Victoria: "Are you sure, it's really good!!!"

Victoria was offering them some little snack mix called Pirate's Booty. It was the funniest thing because she was totally oblivious to what was going on and everyone else in the car was laughing hysterically.

These girls were such a joy to be with and be around! I love them each so dearly and enjoy their company. At testimony meeting it was really cute because at least two to three of the girls had never gotten up to give their testimony and was really cool to see that happen for the first time and hear their love for the gospel. Thanks girls!!!!!!!

Picky Eater!!

Ok people I have the worlds pickest eater living at my house for the summer. I wanted to have some feed back on what I should do??? The past couple of nights I have been cooking and making things that he likes, only for him to take a few bites and then refuse to eat anything else, because he is full. Some of you might be thinking that I'm an awful cook, but no that is not the case, he didn't even eat the food when we went out to eat. He only eats chicken, corn, green beans, brocolli(sp?), salmon (which we don't eat at our house), bacon, and anything sweet. I'm really not leaving anything out, we won't eat pizza or spagetti. No noodles, no starches (that's right he doesn't eat frenh fries), and he doesn't really eat very much bread. It just causes a fight every night at the dinner table because it drives Justin nuts that he won't eat anything. So here is my question, what do I do?????? Do I cater to his wants or do I so to bad so sad? Maybe I give him so many snacks, I don't think I do, but he knows he will like breakfast I think he is willing to hold out that long. I hate this fight every summer and something has got to change and I just wanted to know if anyone else has any ideas or advice out there? HELP!!!!!!!

Summer Days!!!

I recently have quit my job so that I can be home with Braxten. I still walk around the house not knowing what I need to be doing. It still hasn't hit me yet that I don't have to go back to work, I feel like I'm just on a long vaction from work. I have had a lot to do this summer so it seems like I have just been talking a few days off here and there. I guess when life slows down, I might realize that I'm now a house wife. This week I have girls camp and next week we are going to Oklahoma for a small family reunion. I know that I will get the hang of this, and one of these days I will be caught up on the laundry.

Trek 2008

I don't know how many of you know this, but Justin and I were asked by the stake to go and be "Ma's and Pa's". We had 8 children over night, it was great an instant family and they were all potty trained, who could ask for anything more.

All jokes aside, it was a great experince. Our Fam-A-Lee was great.
All the kids were willing to work and they all got along great. We never had to ask someone to help pull or push the cart, when someone said that they were tired, someone else stepped up to the plate. We were able to learn so much about the pioneeers, and some of the experinces and hardships that they faced. At one point the guys all left and the women were left to do all the cart work ourselves.
I couldn't have imagined what that really could have been like, because the the mother's we not left with a group of teenagers to help pull and push the wagon, they might have had some, but most of them had small children. The heat in Texas was unbarable, but we made it across the plains, two very long days. Some people broke wheels on the their wagon and had to wait behind until someone could come an fix the wheels, which we had to stop and wait and then try and get around the wagons that were stopped. These pictures show a lot of what we had to do from putting together our wagons, to the nice sand trails we had to push the wagons through. It was a great experince that I can proudly say I was a part of and know how hard it really was.

Back from the DEAD!!!

I have not had very mush time to blog lately. I have been trying really hard to get my last weeks of work in and get the new girl trained. I'm now a free women!!!!!! A while ago Justin and I decided that the stress from work wasn't worth the paychecks. I'm now the scheduler for Window Works and we will see how that goes. Braxten is also coming out next week and so we will be spending a good amount of time together and I can't wait. The past two summers he has been spending all his time with his dad and this summer we are going to be doing lots of projects and swimming. I'm so thankful for this opportunity that I'm able to have and the fact that my husband started a new business to give me this chance to relax. It will be his turn soon and then we can enjoy more time together. Thanks Honey!!!!!!! I hope blogging more and letting everyone know what is going on in our life.
